Here, we break down the different dance categories, each offering something unique for everyone:

BALLROOM DANCING (International Standard & American Smooth):

International Standard and American Smooth are competitive ballroom dance styles that focus on elegance, precision, and smooth movement across the floor.

  • International Standard is typically performed in a closed dance position, where partners maintain a strong frame and continuous connection throughout the dance. This style is often seen in international competitions and follows strict regulations regarding technique, posture, and execution.

  • American Smooth, while sharing similar foundations, allows for both closed and open positions, giving dancers the freedom to break apart, perform expressive movements, and incorporate more fluid transitions.

Both styles emphasize grace, control, and seamless motion, making them captivating to watch and rewarding to master.

Dances:

  • Waltz – A flowing, romantic dance with smooth, graceful movements. American Smooth allows for more expressive freedom and open positions.

  • Tango – A passionate, dramatic dance with sharp, deliberate movements and intense expression. American Smooth introduces fluid transitions and open positions.

  • Foxtrot – A smooth, elegant dance with long, flowing steps, offering a relaxed, sweeping style in American Smooth.

  • Viennese Waltz – A fast, energetic version of the Waltz with continuous spins and expressive elements, especially in American Smooth.

  • Quickstep – A lively, high-energy dance that blends smooth glides with quick, syncopated footwork (exclusive to International Standard).

Benefits:

  • Fitness – Builds strength, flexibility, coordination, and stamina while toning muscles.

  • Sport – A highly technical style with competitive opportunities, offering both structure and expressive freedom.

  • Expressiveness – Encourages personal creativity and artistic movement, especially in American Smooth.

  • Social – Great for couples and individuals alike, fostering connection, teamwork, and the art of leading and following.

  • Grace – Enhances posture, balance, and body control, contributing to an elegant and confident presence.

LATIN DANCING (International Latin & American Rhythm):

International Latin and American Rhythm are dynamic ballroom dance styles known for their energy, rhythm, and expressive movement. Both styles emphasize strong hip action, sharp footwork, and passionate performances, making them exciting to watch and dance.

  • International Latin is highly technical, focusing on precise foot placements, hip action, and connection between partners. It is performed primarily in a closed hold, with dancers maintaining a structured yet expressive frame.

  • American Rhythm, while sharing similar roots, allows for more freedom in movement and open dance positions, offering a slightly looser, more grounded feel with a greater emphasis on rhythm and musicality.

Both styles highlight power, passion, and intricate body movements, making them an exhilarating dance experience.

Dances:

  • Cha-Cha – A lively and flirtatious dance with sharp footwork and rhythmic hip action.

  • Rumba – A slow, romantic dance that emphasizes smooth movements and expressive body action.
